The Braid Bar is a pop up hair salon from a team of braid fanatics who will transform your hair for drab to fab! Popping up in Selfridges London until 19th April, make like Lilah Moss and head down to get your hair did!! Choose from a dozen styles and even add an accessory (or 10). Glitter, hair rings, chalks or charms.. GO CRAY!!

Maddie Collage 3

We invited some of our fave blogger babes to head over to Motel HQ and get the Motel X Braid Bar treatment themselves! First up is Maddie - a super stylin' youtube bae who loves a bit of poppin lip colour and pastel shades. Maddie chose to rock the cute but classic double vision Linda braid top knot, messed to perfection and topped off with some glitter for that fun festival vibe. Check out our vid at the end of the post to see how you can re-create it yaself or, if you're anything like us (useless) to show your super talented mates and rope them into doing it for you!

How to: Linda 2-part braid

1. Part the hair in two sections making a parting from ear to ear over the crown of the head and and tie the two section with section clips or hair ties

2. Take the back section and make a vertical parting down the middle and tie those sections apart.

3. Proceed by Dutch braiding the two back partings upwards towards the crown and secure the end of the braids with elastic bands.

4. Once the two braids are done, gather the front section and the braids together into one ponytail and the top of the head.

5. For the bun, simply twist the ponytail and rotate in around the hair band and pin into place. For messy bun loosely back comb the ponytail before the twisting and pinning down.

Daniella Collage 3

Next, it was the beauty expert and fiercely fit Daniella Christina's turn. This Kate style is a sure way to keep the weather from messing with those locks, plus... it's a freaking HEART!

How to: Kate

1. De tangle your hair with the wide toothed comb then using the fine toothed comb part the hair right down the middle of the head. Clip one side up above your ear so it doesn't get in the way.

2. On the other side of the parting, use the fine tooth comb to gather a small section of hair from the crown of the head. This section should measure a couple of inches from the hairline to the top of the head.

3. Divide this small section into three and begin doing a French braid. Start at the crown and curve towards the temple, then toward the back of the head, so it looks like the top curve of a heart. Make sure you only lift hair from this side of the paring and try not to leave any loose hair in front of the ear.

4. Once you have finished that side and reached the centre parting at the back of the head you need to secure it with a hair band. If your hair is very long be sure to end the braid about halfway down your ear so the ends will hang down your back.

5. Now repeat on the other side but clip the braid up that you've done already so it doesn't get in the way.

6. One you have done both sides, join the ends together with a band and voila! You have a heart breaker of a braid.

Finish off with some firm hold hair spray to keep the braid in place.
