PRODUCT SOURCING MANAGER (FREELANCE)

Position: Product Sourcing Manager
Location: Remote
Type: Freelance

WELCOME TO MOTEL

Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders, Will and Andy, travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there, they began designing reworked vintage pieces, and thus, Motel was born.

Over 30 years and a team of 200+ people later, every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun, freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. We’re still ambitious and independent, but now we’re a global team - we work from an operational base in Worcester, a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.

PRODUCT SOURCING MANAGER

As our freelance Product Sourcing Manager, you’ll play a key role in our global supply chain and, ultimately, shape the success of our product offerings. By collaborating with internal teams across Motel and external suppliers, you’ll contribute to our overarching buying/sourcing strategy and have plenty of opportunities to develop in an ever-changing landscape.

We’re looking for someone with the energy, ambition and commitment to delivering long-term growth for Motel through ownership of product sourcing and ensuring we’re putting the best garments, at the best prices, in front of our customers.

  • Report on supply chain performance and maintain up-to-date performance data
  • Monitor and report on industry and Macroeconomic trends to ensure that the business can leverage and react to challenges and changes
  • Understand and react to regional and global trends in sourcing
  • Ensure that suppliers are aware of Motel objectives
  • When required, engage in the negotiation of contracts and prices
  • Act as a point of escalation for supplier-related issues
